The machine operates using a powerful 19 bar high pressure pump. This extracts all the aromas and taste from the capsules very effectively and produces great tasting coffee consistently, without having to tinker with a lot of settings.
It features a thermobloc that heats up the water to 187 and 196 degrees when extracting and makes sure the water is fresh by emptying the remaining water after each use.
It also perforates the capsule and soaks all the grounds to make the filtering of the coffee optimal.
A functional jaw system allows for very easy preparation. And an automatic ejection of the used pod allows for a extremely simple clean-up (a feature that all who use this machine absolutely love!).

Nespresso D290 is Easy
This coffee maker is all about ease of use and is very simple to operate. Fill the container with water, hit one button to turn it on and wait until the red light stops blinking (this takes roughly 15 seconds). Open the top to insert the capsule and close. Hit one button to brew a cup of coffee.
When you open the top lid to insert another capsule, the machine drops the old one into a hidden discard bin. The bin takes around 12 pods and a light comes on when it needs to be emptied.
The coffee maker comes with a steamer, so if you want a latte or a cappuccino you only need to press the steam button, place the milk cup under the hose and press the lever. The machine will suck the milk up and dispense a perfectly foamy layer into the cup.
One thing to note is that you can only order the Nespresso D290 capsules from their website or over the phone (This goes for all Nespresso machines). However, ordering is also very easy. Yeah, this coffee maker is actually as simple as the review says. I’ve been into coffee for quite some time and I’ve had a more complex machine before. But I just cant justify all the work that went into brewing a coffee after getting the Nespresso.
